I have a soft spot for flowers in a room.
Not the giant arrangements you see at fancy events. I’m talking about the little bunch you put on the kitchen counter because the space looks a bit sad without it. That kind of thing.
Flowers don’t magically fix a room, of course. But they can add a bit of colour and make the place feel lived in. And when you get tired of looking at them in one spot, you can simply move the vase.
Have a Look Around First
Before ordering flowers, I’d check what is already in the room.
If you’ve got pale walls, wooden furniture, and a few neutral cushions, you probably don’t need something incredibly bright. White Carnations would fit that sort of setting quite easily.
A handful of White Carnations in a glass vase could sit on the dining table. Or maybe on the shelf near the window. I’d try a couple of places before settling on one.
That’s part of the fun, really.
If choosing flowers isn’t your thing, a Floral Atelier Singapore can take some of the guesswork out of it. Tell them what your room looks like and what you’re going for. You don’t have to know all the flower names beforehand.
Don’t Fill the Whole Table
I’ve made this mistake before. You see a beautiful, full bouquet and think it would look great at home.
Then you put it on the table and realise you’ve got nowhere to put your coffee.
A smaller arrangement is often easier.
A few White Carnations in a short vase can sit on a bedside table without getting in the way. You can also put White Carnations in a narrow vase on a hallway table where there isn’t much space.
Want something less plain? Add a bit of greenery. Mix in another flower or two. I wouldn’t worry about making every stem line up perfectly either. Flowers don’t need to look like they’ve been measured with a ruler.
A Floral Atelier Singapore can create something more detailed if that’s what you prefer, but simple can be lovely too.
What About the Office?
A workplace can use a little colour as well.
Take a reception desk. There’s usually a computer, a phone, maybe a stack of paperwork that nobody wants to look at. Put some flowers there and suddenly the desk has a bit more personality.
White Carnations can work particularly well if the business has a simple or modern interior. They aren’t screaming for attention, which is probably a good thing when customers are walking in and out.
The same idea works in a café, salon, shop, or hotel.
If the business has several areas to decorate, getting help from a Floral Atelier Singapore could save some time. You can explain the space and let the florist suggest a few options.
That One Awkward Corner
You know the corner I’m talking about.
It’s empty. You’ve tried putting a chair there. Didn’t work. You moved the chair somewhere else and now the corner is empty again.
Flowers might actually do the job.
A taller vase with White Carnations and greenery could fill the space without making it look crowded. Or use a mixed bunch if you want something with more colour.
Give it a few days before deciding. I’ve found that sometimes an arrangement looks odd when you first put it somewhere. Then you walk past it a few times and suddenly think, “Actually, that’s not bad.”
And if you still hate it, move it. Problem solved.
A florist such as KXH Flowers can also be handy when you’re working with an unusual space and don’t know what sort of arrangement would fit.
Move Things Around
Flowers aren’t furniture. You don’t have to decide on one permanent location.
Move the White Carnations from the dining table to the hallway. Put them beside the sofa for a few days. If you’ve got a sunny shelf, try them there.
For a business, a Floral Atelier Singapore can also prepare different arrangements when the décor changes or there’s a special occasion coming up.
At home, there’s no need to make it that serious. If you like White Carnations, use them. If you prefer a colourful mixed bouquet next week, go with that instead.
The nice thing about decorating with flowers is that you can change your mind whenever you want.
Just Have a Go
You don’t need a perfect-looking home to enjoy flowers.
Use an old glass bottle if you like it. Cut the stems a little shorter. Add some leaves. Take half the bunch into another room.
White Carnations can be dressed up or kept very simple. A Floral Atelier Singapore can help when you want something more carefully put together, but you can have fun experimenting on your own too.
Start with one vase.
Put it somewhere you normally don’t decorate.
Then see what happens.
